Frequently asked questions.

How should i prepare for my appointment?

It is best to have eaten within two hours of coming in for your appointment. Ideally you are neither hungry nor full.

Please avoid caffeine or minimize intake as much as possible the day of your appointment. Caffeine has been shown to reduce the efficacy of acupuncture treatment, and we want you to receive as much benefit as possible from your appointment.

Many people wear loose clothing to the appointment that can roll up easily for access to arm up to elbows, legs up to knees and abdomen. Others bring an outfit they change into. We are prepared with gowns and sheets for draping if an outfit will prevent access to these areas, however some people prefer to come ready to relax on the table on arrival.

Please complete your initial intake forms before arriving for your appointment to allow us to best utilize our scheduled time.

Note that ample parking and the building entrance are located on San Nicholas street (not Main St). Detailed office directions can be found in the appointment confirmation email.

Do you take insurance?

Amy is in-network with Cigna. For all other insurance companies we can issue a coded superbill after payment at the time of treatment, which can be submitted for reimbursement to utilize out-of-network acupuncture benefits (OON). When inquiring about any acupuncture benefits on your insurance plan, it's helpful to ask for which conditions they cover acupuncture treatment (low back pain, for example).

We do accept HSA and FSA as a form of payment.

Which appointment type should i schedule?

All patients will book “Initial Acupuncture Visit” for their first appointment.

If you would like to discuss your case prior to scheduling your initial visit, please schedule a “15 minute discovery call”.
